Is there a reason why we are still using version 1.70 instead of 2.01 of Memtest86+?

 

No reason - just wasn't aware of an update.  It's in the next beta release (4.4-beta3).

 

You can easily upgrade memtest yourself:

 

1) Go to the memtest download page and download the "precompiled bootable binary (.gz)".

 

2) Copy this file to your flash share.

 

3) From telnet or system console, unpack the binary using this command:

 

cd /boot
gunzip memtest86+-2.01.bin.gz

4) Replace 'memtest' with the resulting binary:

 

rm memtest
mv memtest86+-2.01.bin memtest
