Sync remote server to a folder on unRAID regularly

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Need some help in solving a problem:

Problem:

I have a seedbox where all the completed files are moved to a "downloads" folder. I would like to automate it so that on a regular basis, all the files from "downloads" would get downloaded to a "filesync" share on my unraid box. If this can be done on the unRAID server, that would be fantastic. If not, I have a Linux Mint 14 box running 24/7 that can be used.

Currently, I use a Windows XP running FileZilla but I have to manually kick off the ftp downloads. I guess I can always use a powershell script or a batch file and schedule it but I am hoping to run 1 less VM if possible. I need a linux VM for anotehr project - hence Mint 14.

Possible Solution:

I found a possible solution at http://www.torrent-invites.com/seedbox-tutorials/132965-tutorial-auto-sync-seedbox-home-linux-mac-machine-lftp-shell-script.html. However , to get that to work, I have to mount the folder on my unRAID box (\\tower\sbsync) on the Mint 14 box. I can see the sbsync share when browsing via the GUI but I am not able to mount the share.

Environment:

ESXi 5.1 running unRAID 5.0 b11.

I have a Mint 14 VM running also. (not married to Mint. can use another distro if needed)

Using default security.

Ideal solution would be to use unRAID to run a script to download the files automatically

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
