unRaid 4.7 and CP 2.0 not playing nice

Featured Replies

I have an unRAID server to keep my media.  On the unRAID Server I have a cache drive where I have sort of a hidden directory (it is called ".custom") that keeps my apps (only CP, Sickbeard, Sabnzbd).  Sickbeard and Sabnzbd work without any problems.  Now that I've just installed CP 2.0 (CP 1.0 worked fine in the past) everything seemingly works great except for one thing.  The files are initially downloaded to the cache drive and then moved to my Movies share.  When the files are moved to the Movies share they initially weren't visible via a Windows 7 machine.  I had to go in to Windows Explorer -> Folder Options and check off "Show Operating System Files."  Once I did that the files were displayed, but they are hazy, sort of greyed out.  It appears the files just have different permissions as everything else, but I'm not sure why.  I noticed in the settings of CP there were some ways to change the permissions being used (CHMOD I think).  I changed those numbers around some, but the result is the same.

What is odd is I don't have any permissions set on the unRAID server or the Windows 7 machine.  Both are pretty much wide open.  Has anyone seen this kind of behavior before?  Can anyone suggest what might resolve it?

Upgrade to 5.0-RC12a and just use the plugin.

I don't want to upgrade to 5.0 until Lime Technology actually makes it a stable production release.  I know plenty of people have had success with it, but history has taught me I'll wind up being the exception.  Just lucky I guess.

Ultimately, I FINALLY figured out the issue.  I'm pretty much a linux moron so it took me a while.  What I did was telnet in to unRAID, execute Midnight Commander, and then looked at the CHMOD permissions of folders and files that were successfully downloaded in the past.  They varied from what CP 2.0 provided.  Then I went in to CP 2.0 and mirrored those permissions.  Voila', problem solved, the newly downloaded files were now visible and I could turn the "Hide Operating System Files" switch back on in Windows Explorer.  All is right with the world.

This is due to a change in CP V2.0, I had a post on here and on Rudd's GITHub page. He said there was nothing he could do, so I would just Telnet into unRAID and run a

chmod +R +X /mnt/user/Movies

and then they would appear in Windows and on my openELEC HTPC (Stripped down Linux w/ XBMC). The only other option is to set a job to do this for you or do what I did and move to unRAID 5.

Please note; this will happen EVERY time you grab a movie from CP.

Hope that helps!
