[SOLVED]Trouble with newly added cache drive

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I recently added a cache drive to my unraid array for purposes of running apps, and increasing write speed a bit.  I am having a bit of a problem, it seems.  When I copy files to my user shares, they seem to go directly to the shares (ls -hal on /mnt/cache reveals nothing).  I am able to run my apps from the cache just fine, but I am having trouble with the copy/mover.

Mover question:

When I select to activate mover from the web UI (using simplefeatures), I only see this in the syslog:

Cache question:

When I copy files to /mnt/user/blah, do I need to create a folder that matches it on the cache drive (/mnt/cache/blah)?  Is that done automatically?  I currently have a unique cache only directory (with stuff in it), and it has not yet been created as a user share, so I am confused...

I have 2 problems:  Copied files do not go to the cache drive, and files on the cache drive are not moving over.

I feel like I'm missing something super simple, so any basic pointers are appreciated.  I can't seem to find my answers in the wiki/forum.

Thanks so much!

...And there's the bonehead thing I was missing.  I'll enable that and see if it clears things up.  I suspect it will.

Thank you kindly.

Hmm, maybe that didn't solve it.  I had some files come in to a user share with cache enabled, and they seem to go directly to that share (rather than the cache).  Is there something else I need to do to get the setting to stick?

Thanks!
