September 28, 201312 yr Hi So my Unraid has been online for a good year with no problems, I tried accessing my shares via Hamachi like I normally would and it was shoing me that it was offline, So then tried to remote control my Unraid Tower via a PC at home using Logmein and sure enough it was offline as i was not able to see it on my local network or connect to it via the login screen. I ask my wife to reboot the system and it did not come back online. So today i hooked up a monitor and keyboard and found that for some reason the incorrect bootable device was selected, after the correct one was chosen they system booted and i was able to connect to it through the login screen and i could see my shares via network neighbourhood. However there were a number of errors showing that Hamachi was unable to start due to missing files ect. I thought it would be a good idea to stop the system then reboot it......so i did.. Now all i get is Black screen with Boot Error If i look at the USB stick on my XP machine it's Blank no files what so ever..... What can i do.....? please tell me i haven't lost my data? Thanks John
September 28, 201312 yr Run checkdisk on the flash. You can always format the flash (do a long format) and do a clean install. Replace the key file and then the system will boot. ONLY parity must be assigned correctly. If you are not sure which is parity then assign all of the drives as data drives. One of them will appear as unformatted. This one is parity. Assign the parity drive and let it rebuild or do a new config and check "parity is correct". Do a parity check. This will not effect the data disks.
September 28, 201312 yr Author I'm guessing my USB drive has died, If i get a new one get a new Plus.key bound to the USB then continue with what you said earlier will this work too?
October 1, 201312 yr Yes. Contact Lime and let him know that your flash has died. He will issue a new license. You'll need the GUID number for the new flash drive.
