October 17, 201312 yr Hey guys, I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do. The other day, I sat down at my workstation and realized that I could not access my server via web browser so I connected via Telnet and was able to function fine. I restarted the server and all was well. So I was installing a new drive and had a preclear running on the drive when it all lost connection. I can no longer load the web page or telnet in. I get a connection refused error when trying to connect. I can see all my shares fine via finder. I can't get to a syslog (at least, I don't know how). Anyone have suggestions? I'm mostly concerned with what's going on with the drive I was preclearing and what a safe course of action would be to restart the server. Thanks!
October 17, 201312 yr Can you hook up a monitor and keyboard to the server? If you have a Supermicro motherboard with IPMI you can connect to that port remotely. If your remote telnet session ended and you weren't running Screen chances are the Preclear job is not running. If Screen was running you can reconnect to the session with the locally connected monitor/keyboard.

Okay, I did connect a monitor and I was running preclear in Screen, so I checked and it is still going. STILL, though, cannot connect. I attached the syslog now. There's alot of "No Space Left on Device" What is the cause of this? My flash drive being low on space? https://www.dropbox.com/s/qe2k4jeftx12vmd/syslog.txt
October 18, 201312 yr Author I'm actually going to update this as solved. After looking at the syslog, I've realized that my router cleared out the static IP I had set. I'm still curious about that storage full business though..
October 18, 201312 yr It's a big syslog It looks like your cache drive is run out of space. I'll keep looking at the log. How big is the cache drive?

I tried scrolling through but it made no sense to me and seemed very repetitive. The cache drive is 1TB and now that I have access to the web again, it shows 806GB free on the cache.
October 18, 201312 yr Yes repetitive....... What version of unRAID is it? There have been issues with AFP and unRAID and some procedures to clear up the problem, as in, Mover not moving from cache drive. Any of that ring true, are you using AFP?

October 18, 201312 yr Since you're stuck in a Preclear cycle I doubt you want to reboot. If you have the GUI back you can browse to your cache drive and see what files are really on there. From what I see of your syslog, it looks like the mover can't move (rsync) files because there's not space. Hopefully you have a lot of space on the unRAID data drives. It's probably better to open another thread about it. I think you lost the GUI remotely because you may have run out of memory. I wish I could help you more. But you have that log to get started with.

I'll create a new thread and see where it takes me.
October 18, 201312 yr OK, thanks for the update! Usually cache drive only hold app_data, which I'll assume is Plex and Sab, at least. So if you show the other folders then it means there are folders and data not getting transferred to the unRAID data drives. This would normally happen during mover operation. And if it's just on the cache drive then it's VERY vulnerable to loss. Another way this can be seen in the "ugly" default webGUI is on the "Shares" tab your Time Capsule and Web shares will show an orange ball meaning the cache drive is holding data to move. I hope this helps!

Any idea what's causing it to not transfer over?
October 18, 201312 yr Author How much room is left on Disk2; is it full or low on space? All my drives have over 500gb free.
October 18, 201312 yr Thanks phillipppp! Well, drive space can't be the problem. I've been searching around and can't come up with anything conclusive. I'll search some more later. It may not be just an AFP problem. I don't want you to get too focused on that aspect. One thing would be to make sure the mover is moving. Good Luck!
October 18, 201312 yr Just one more shot at this, I guess: Two threads that relate to the trouble: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=25642.msg223290#msg223290 Here the issue was related to a setting, "Make sure that Settings->Share Settings has only blank fields for Included and Excluded." http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=22831.msg202565#msg202565 Here Joe L. says, "you need to set the min-free settings on the user-shares to a value about twice that of the largest file being moved. It is in kB." Oh, just some things to ponder. Again, good luck!
