thejonshow
Apologies if this is the wrong forum for this, but is there a set of Terminal commands I can run from a local Mac machine connected to my unRAID box to access the unRAID server console command line (for the purposes of running SMART reports or running the reiserfsck tool)? Someone pointed me to this thread, but I feel like I may be missing a basic piece of the puzzle. My familiarity with terminal and command line is weak at best. Many thanks- Quote Link to comment
DaleWilliams
Yes. Open the TERMINAL app on your Mac. type TELNET I find it easiest to connect via the static IP address TELNET 192.168.1.xx and then the default login is 'root'. Quote Link to comment
thejonshow
Thank you Dale! and dgaschk again. I was hitting my head against the wall because I'm unfamiliar with Telnet and had no idea what the command was to activate/use it. There is surprising little information on Google for "Telnet 101 for dummies". Quote Link to comment
dgaschk
"telnet tower.local" and http://tower.local should work with the latest release. Quote Link to comment
