November 25, 201312 yr The $69 deal isn't really a simple "rebate." Many may recognize that all-too-familiar software box in the photo. That pariah has been in countless fire-sale "deals", and if you search, you'll find a lot of venom for their sign-up / cancellation 'policy'...
November 26, 201312 yr Author Many companies will say that the warranty is voided on external drives once you remove them, but technically the warranty is only voided on the entire external drive. The internal drive has a serial number just like any other and I've known many people who have RMAd drives from external enclosures with no problems. As to the rebate thing, yeah, I don't ever deal with any prices that involve mail in rebates no matter what they are, but other people are more brave than I am.
November 26, 201312 yr In order to get that "discount", I believe you have to sign-up/enroll with that security software company- providing your credit card information, and you have the 'option' to cancel the service before the trial period expires. Problem is- their cancellation procedure supposedly isn't easy/reliable. The mere fact that you see that software bundled with everything under the sun, representing the combo as some great 'discount'....... says enough [to me] about what to expect.
