December 10, 201312 yr I have seen many postings on people losing data files after a power outage or sudden drop in power. I have tried everything they tried but I am still losing one or more data media files. Not really sure why that is the case since I would figure the Parity drive would correct the lost file. Anyone has any others ideas it would be appreciated. Thanks Greg
December 10, 201312 yr Parity won't correct a file that is in the process of being written when a power failure occurs, or data that is in buffers and hasn't been synced. Not sure exactly what you are asking here. The simple answer is get a UPS so your server can survive short power outages, and shutdown gracefully during longer ones.
December 10, 201312 yr Author I am running 5.0-rc5 version. @gsd2012: what unraid version you are using?
December 10, 201312 yr Author I understand that loss of power will affect the ones in the buffers but these files have been on the system for almost a year now. I am not sure what the issue is, but yes I have a UPS but it needs new batteries to perform the graceful shutdowns. December 10, 201312 yr Just update to latest version, there was an important fix since rc16a to sort the problem you describe.
