Any Advantage to Change from "Apps" Drive to Cache Drive

Featured Replies

I recently changed my unRAID license from free to plus.  I currently use an APPS drive outside the array for YAMJ, Sickbeard, Couchpotato & SABnzb and Transmission.  I mount it using the go script.  I really don't have a need for the "caching" part, just for applications.

Is there any adavantages to mounting my apps drive as a cache drive using the unRAID GUI?

I mount my apps drive outside the array because it is a SSD and wanted ext4/trim support.....

I still have a small cache drive for the array - my swap file is located on it, otherwise just regular array stuff and no addons there but swap

All my VMs are on the SSD
