April 17, 201412 yr Sorry to ask so many questions, hopefully it can be a help to others in similar situations as well. Running Unraid : 6.0-beta4 Xen Version: 4.3.2 Dom0 Kernel: Linux 3.10.24p-unRAID x86_64 Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. - GA-78LMT-S2P CPU: AMD FX-6100 Six-Core Speed: 3.3 GHz Cache: 128 kB, 128 kB, 2048 kB Memory: 6144 MB (max. 8 GB) Network: br0: - Duplex eth0: 1000Mb/s - Full Duplex vif1.0: - Duplex Connections: 1 I have a machine that currently has 2x4GB ram in it. From the unraid GUI / Info screen it says Memory: 6144 MB (max. 8 GB) Which seems slightly incorrect possibly? From the terminal when I type the below, it shows that the system only has 3565MB of RAM? Any idea why the rest of the RAM isn't available? root@Tower:/boot/scripts# xl dmesg | grep RAM (XEN) Xen-e820 RAM map: (XEN) System RAM: 3565MB (3651132kB) (XEN) Scrubbing Free RAM: .done. Also here is my xl list root@Tower:/boot/scripts# xl list Name ID Mem VCPUs State Time(s) Domain-0 0 1278 6 r----- 4516.9 ubuntu 1 2048 2 -b---- 259.1 Also stranger, if i run a regular free -m it shows root@Tower:/boot/scripts# free -m total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1130 1099 30 0 248 644 -/+ buffers/cache: 206 923 Swap: 0 0 0
April 17, 201412 yr If the mb has on board video some mb take ram for video memory Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
April 17, 201412 yr Author The motherboard does have onboard video, that would possibly explain why unraid info says there is 6144MB, but why would xen then say there is 3565MB and free -m say something completely different
