Be very careful not to delete files from this folder except using the cleanup tool, for reasons that will become obvious as you read about it. Although a solution to "DLL hell", your eyes will bulge out of your head with this incredibly inefficient and poorly conceived solution. The cleanup helps but does not stop the bloat. So Windows will never be constrained in a small install. Every update is going to make it bigger and bigger. You can recover some of the wasted space, but not stop the growth.

Thanks for this heads up. Will have to check out the Win 7 VM I run on my ESXi box and make sure this is installed.
