July 14, 201411 yr According to the hardware wiki http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Hardware_Compatibility#PCI_SATA_Controllers the Areca ARC-1170 works. now i'm building a new server and trying to future proof the build and not putting any close to out dated parts into it. looking at the Areca ARC-1284ML-24 card http://arecadirect.com/arpc20tosara2.html the specs are similar to the 1170. just wondering if it will work with unRaid. i know there are probably less expensive options out there but i want to at least use two PCI slots to support my 24bay build and looking for the best performance i can get. and possibly having a single solution is very attractive
August 25, 201411 yr Hi I have been using ARC-1160 and ARC-1170 in unRAID. Please delete Pass Through and set them as single disk mode in JBOD. I am not sure if you can make it working but not a bad idea to try.
August 25, 201411 yr Author the card is in JBOD mode and i didnt setup any pass through but will look to see if i can delete them.
