Use a pool for cache and user data simultaneously and set quotas to each applicable use to limit consumption by each function (user-controlled). 

 

linux in general' date=' and btrfs in particular, has a sophisticated ‘quota’ system that would provide this exact functionality.  This would go on the ‘Unscheduled’ roadmap.[/quote']
