2T Drive - $179

Featured Replies

Thanks for the heads up....but I wonder it that's a typo Newegg still has them for 299.99

Do you know for sure if they ever actually had these in stock?  I am already on their auto-notify list and have been for several days (when it was listed at a higher price- don't remember what) but never got a notice.

Otherwise, of course, any vendor could list these for $25 each and raise the price when the stock actually comes in, but if they're willing to actually sell these at that price, I'd be inclined to cancel my pre-order with PC Connection (where I locked in $245 shipped, intending to order 1 for testing... but I think $180 is actually about a fair price for buying in any quantity considering the Seagate 1.5TB is around $130 -> 3GB for $260).

Side note: Amazon did have these for preorder around $260; raised the price back up to $340 when they came into stock, lowered it to $300 (where it is now), sold out and currently gives an in stock date of 3/17.

No - I am not sure they ever sold them at that price.  I was reading another forum and saw this posted and thought I would share here as well.

Well the price is now $296.99  So it was either a typo or thye never intended to sell at that price!

Bummer!  I guess we'll have to wait a couple months (this summer maybe) before they come down to the $179 price!
