December 3, 200619 yr I recently set up the unraid-plus and everything was working fine. Today it starts up normal, I can get to the setup through my browser but I cannot access my drives. I get the message: "\\Tower is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission. The specific network name is no longer available." I have tried it from a different computer in my network and same thing. Any ideas what I can look at? I have checked the nework cfg and it is set to obtain ip automatically, and I have set up to export shares and drives. thanks Jim
December 3, 200619 yr Can you ping it by IP address? Can you ping your router/desktop machine by IP address from unRaid? Is it getting an IP address from your DHCP server (I'm guessing, you' ve got a Hardware Firewall Router which provides this service?). HTH!. Matt
December 4, 200619 yr If you can ping the IP, try telneting to it, you can bypass the switch with a cross over cable (which will be problematic if you use DHCP as the other poster said, the name should resolve though). If you cant, the flash could be a gonner.. or just badly seated in the port (re-seat everything & try to boot again).
December 4, 200619 yr Author Well I got it to work after many frustarting hours trying to figure it out. I reformated the flash installed the basic and the reg file and replaced the disk.cfg with the old one, and everything worked. After starting it just did a parity sync. The other problem that I am having is sometimes when I open the setup page the server goes in shutdown mode. Is there anything that you guys know that would cause this to happen. thanks Jim
December 7, 200619 yr What do you mean by "setup page"? Regarding original problem - when you've lost browser connectivity for some reason, if possible the best thing to try is to connect a monitor and keyboard and see if the system still responds. If so, you can type 'ifconfig' to get the IP address of the system, and then try to connect with your browser using that instead of the system name.
December 7, 200619 yr Author by setup page I ment i was able to connect to my server through my browser but when I went to look at the files I was getting that message. I was able to ping the server using the ip address but it would not let me access the files. After redoing the flash everything is working fine.
