Cannot delete a folder -

Featured Replies

I was using rsync and somehow a folder was created (not sure how) named _2X680~Y.  This folder has multiple subfolders.  I went to delete it on my windows machine and got "you need permission to perform this action."  I tried to change permissions in windows without success (access is denied).

I telneted into the server with Putty.  When I go to the directory with this folder and use the ls command, _2x680~Y is not listed.  I tried ls -a in case it is somehow hidden and I the folder is still not listed.

Any ideas about where this folder came from and how to delete it?  I know very very basic linux only. ls, rm, cd etc.

Thanks
