grimm2000
I just finished installing my last hard drive into my current UnRaid system and have no space left. I can either start replacing my 1TB WD drives with 2TB and have my 1TB lying around as backups or create a new UnRaid box which is the path I will be following in the next couple of months. Since the latest version of UnRaid can support 20 drives, but my current case can't, I guess I will build a new server that can handle 20 drives. What I want is the greenest and cheapest path possible to reach my 20 drive limit. What suggestions does anyone have for a new motherboard. I need one that hopefully has a built in video, can auto start and shut off, has the most onboard SATA connectors and PCIE slots possible so I can easily reach the 20 drives I need and spend the least amount of money. Thanks for any help with this!! Link to comment
lionelhutz
Maybe this board; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128343&Tpk=GA-EP45-DQ6 1 - PCIe x16 1 - PCIe x8 2 - PCIe x4 1 - PCIe x1 FYI, I read somewhere that Norco is supposed to be coming out with a 24 drive case with SAS backplane. Could help with the cables between the SATA cards and the case. RPC-4124 is the number I read but don't know if it is correct. Peter Link to comment
