Upgrade to v 5.0.6

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just tried to upgrade from v 5 to v 5.0.6 and my server would not boot.

I replaced bzimage, bzroot and syslinux.cfg onto the root of my flash drive like all other upgrades before it. I have replaced with the old backed up files and I am up and running again.

I noticed on the download of v5.0.6 that syslinux now seems to be in its own sub-folder...is this the problem? Do I need to mirror this folder structure on my installation?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Not sure if it is strictly necessary, but couldn't hurt.

Probably have to run make_bootable again.

And attach a monitor so you can see that it is booting.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Although I have been using unraid for some years now, I'm still a complete noob when it comes to troubleshooting and repairs...what exactly do you mean by run make_bootable? How would I do this? This isn't something I've come across on upgrades in the past.

Thanks.

You must have run make_bootable when you originally prepared your flash drive. There is a file make_bootable.bat on your flash drive that you have to run with it plugged in to your PC to make it bootable for unRAID. There is a different one for MAC I think but have not used it.
