March 18, 201511 yr I have tried to install different docker templates (correct Term?) and the downloads goes on, and on, and on; downloading hundreds of MB's each. I stopped these processes because this seamed excessive to me. There were hugh downloads for metadata, which I already have. (Is new metadata really being downloaded?) What I would like to know is where is all this data being stored. The folders I have created for this are empty and a search for files with today's time stamp just list movie xml/nfo files in the video folders. I guess my problem is not being familiar with dockers and knowing what to expect. Comments will be appreciated.
March 18, 201511 yr the amount of data being downloaded is based upon the size of the docker and can be anywhere from 5mb to in the gb range. since you didn't specify what container, there's no way of telling if this is an issue or you're just impatient, lol.
March 18, 201511 yr Author Thanks, You are right about the omission. The two I tried to set up were Media Browser, and Minidlna. The amount of downloading for the metadata was my main concern. Was the info being retrieved from my video folders, or was it actually being downloaded again from the internet and being stored in another location? It wasn't a matter of impatience as it was that of concern from not fully understanding what was going on. And, then, when I could not locate the downloads, I decided I need to ask the experts for help. My first attempt resulted in nearly one gig of data, and with an allocation of 10 GB, I thought, are these dockers really that big and, How much should I increase the size of my virtual drive if they are? Such are the thoughts and fears of a noob to dockers. I am really curious if the process is actually reading each of my video folders and then searching the internet for metadata I have already collected. That will probably determine if I continue building containers for the two mentioned templates above. I already have a windows MB server and unRaid MB server plugin working fine. I was just trying to learn about this whole docker process using something I was familiar with
