No access from Window 7 but Wireless OK

Featured Replies

Hi, recently upgraded from 4.7 to 5.0.6. Since then I have been unable to access any of my shares from my Windows 7 Home Premium box. I get the following messages:

Is not Accessible

The Specified Network Name in no longer Valid

This is bizarre as I have not changed any of the settings on my PC, Router or Unraid box (other than upgrading it).

I have run the permissions script. I have also tried numerous registry fixes as it seems Home Premium can have problems with Samba etc. Export is set to Yes and Security is set to Public in 'Shares'

Whats really weird is that I have a HTPC running Win 7 Ultimate that I have not had to touch (running Ethernet) and I also have a laptop running Win 7 which will only connect to the Unraid Shares once the 'Maps' have been established. What I mean is that if I connect to Wired (turn wireless off) and I try to 'Map a Network Drive' to my Unraid Server I get the same problem as from my Home premium Box. If however I then switch to Wireless I can then Map the Network Drives and connect. I can then turn Wireless off again and it still works..... Let me reitirate again that nothing else has changed EXCEPT the version of Unraid. I tried the upgrade about a year ago and backed it out again because of the same problem....

I have disabled the firewall both on my PC and the Router to no avail...

Help !!!

thx

Tony

Go into Control Panel - Credential Manager and delete any references to unRAID so they can be recreated.
