How do I change the name of a user?

I would like to change a username in unraid so I don't have to go back through and reassign the user to certain shares.

 

I tried using this command:

 

usermod -l user_name old_name

 

and it changed it successfully in the /etc/passwd file. It did not change it anywhere else so I am guessing there is some part of unraid which tracks users as well. I rebooted and the new user_name was no longer in /etc/passwd and I couldn't use ssh with the new user_name.

 

Does anybody have any ideas?
