April 8, 201511 yr What is the current status of this? I just bought the card from monoprice... and it arrived today. Silent Data Corruption? Updating the BIOS? Do I actually need to worry about any of this? So much conflicting stuff... some people say raid bios works fine, some say they need non-raid.. Others have no problems, others have major parity errors
April 9, 201511 yr You have to test it. I tried some cards and they were bad when using both channels. The real SiL3132 is a good proven part, so I suspect these boards were either a PC board issue (but I somewhat doubt this due to the silent corruption) or possible a counterfeit part that didn't work right. To test it you could install and move 2 of your current array drives to it and then start a NON-CORRECTING parity check. You'll quickly know if it's good or not. Add to your list that some cards can't be re-flashed.
