OpenSSL won't install

Featured Replies

Using unmenu, I tried to install openssl, but get the following message:

openssl-0.9.8n-i486-1.txz installation:

Verifying package openssl-0.9.8n-i486-1.txz.

xz: (stdin): File format not recognized

Installing package openssl-0.9.8n-i486-1.txz:

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION:

WARNING:  Package has not been created with 'makepkg'

Package openssl-0.9.8n-i486-1.txz installed.

openssl-0.9.8n-i486-1.txz apparently did not install properly, /usr/bin/openssl does not exist.

================

Also saw this message:

Package File: openssl-0.9.8n-i486-1.txz

md5 Checksum: 56d12bb20a3c06436bab994297afb082 (NOT matched - download may be corrupted or download URL no longer valid.)

Am I missing something?  OpenSSL is the base package for a lot of apps, so not sure what to do next...

Thanks!

Jeff...

Hmmm, now I'm trying to install bw-ng and getting a similar issue.  Is this a rights issue?

bwm-ng-0.6-i486-2bj.tgz installation:

Verifying package bwm-ng-0.6-i486-2bj.tgz.

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file

Installing package bwm-ng-0.6-i486-2bj.tgz:

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION:

WARNING:  Package has not been created with 'makepkg'

Package bwm-ng-0.6-i486-2bj.tgz installed.

bwm-ng-0.6-i486-2bj.tgz apparently did not install properly, /usr/bin/bwm-ng does not exist.
