June 16, 200917 yr So i was copying a movie to my unRAID tower when the network went out. now i know that it wasn't finished transferring but the file is there and is the same size of the original when i try to open it, its corrupted and doesn't work. the thing is i cant delete it. When i try, the window just crashes and i have to force close it. what would be the proper way to delete it if i telnet in? thanks
June 16, 200917 yr I'm sure the Linux experts can give you a more sophisticated way, with the appropriate console commands, but the crude way would be to Stop and Reboot the array. If that does not do it, you may also have to reboot your Windows machine. Right now, something is holding the file open, which disallows the deletion.
June 17, 200917 yr Author I tried stopping the array and the page would reload, even after 20 minutes, so i had to pull the plug. On reboot it did a parity check with 0 errors and then i was able to delete the file thanks
July 5, 200917 yr I've had a few cases where I was unable to delete from Windows because it was supposedly it used (not true), however, I was able to delete it with no problem thru a telnet session.
July 5, 200916 yr If you just give it some time, the lock on the file will be dropped and you can delete it. Rebooting the array also works.
