Problems on playback with Windows 7

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

I've been trying unRAID 6, most recently the beta 15,  for a couple of weeks and I can't figure out a big issue, the playback on a Windows 7 pc I use as a media player for my living room. I have another 2 pc, one using Win 8.1 and another on Win 10; neither one of these have this issue, just the Win 7. This happens with all the players I have, MPC, PowerDVD...

Taking a look at the transfer speed while the other 2 keep it around 10 Mb/s on playback the Win 7 drops even under 1 Mb/s, so any movie I play just keeps buffering every 2 seconds.

I don't know what to look at to figure out a solution, if anyone knows anything please let me know.

I attach the hardware of the unRAID unit, if it's needed the log or anything else just ask and I'll post it.

Thanks y'all!!

How is the Win 7 computer connected to the network? It sounds like you might be having a wiring or switch issue.

And double check that the Win 7 station has gigabit speed.

All my network is connected via ethernet full duplex switch and gigabit NIC, and it only happens on playback, not transferring files, when I do that the speed is 40 Mb/s all the way, that's the weird thing. This is the board on the WIn 7 PC http://es.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-ep43c-ds3_10/specs/

The router is a D-Link dir-865L and the switch is a  D-Link DSG-108, all connected via wire cat. 6
