I have been using unraid for about a year now and have had no problems until now. As usual I move files to my server and it goes to my cache drive which is then moved to the array at night. Well lately its not moving the files at all. I have plenty of space on my array so I don't know what the problem is. I even tried doing it manually by clicking on the move now button but that did not work either. Any help is appreciated.

My guess is that your split level is not set right.

 

Split level is used to keep files deeper than a certain level all on the same physical disk.  Your setting is likely making unRAID believe that your new files need to go onto a disk that is already full - therefore nothing is getting moved.

 

The default split level behavior has changed a bit over time.

 

Why don't you post ..

 

1.  What version of unRAID you are using, and any recent upgrade activity.

2.  A syslog

3.  Your "user share" configuration

 

I'm sure someone will be able to explain why this is happening and offer suggestions on how to correct.

Seems I figured out the problem and how to solve it.
