adding existing file system to array?

Featured Replies

i have a drive i took out of the unraid array to work on thinking it was a disk failure but the partition got corrupt. i fixed it in ubuntu and need to add it back to the array. the drive has since been removed for the array configuration. im guessing i just need to readd it and update the parity but i dont want to screw anything up. anyone got any advice?

If the partitioning is still as it was (you did not re-partition it) and it still has a reiserfs file-system on it, then is as simple as  stopping your array, assigning the disk to a spare slot in the array, and pressing "Start"

If it is recognized, it will not show up as Unformatted.

If it is not a valid file-system, or cannot be mounted as a reiser-fs because of corruption, then it will show up as Unformatted.

Do not format it unless you want to clear it of its data.

When you re-start the array it will compute parity with the newly added drive.
