May 25, 201511 yr hello, im kinda new to all of this. but here is my dilema. last week i had a drive fail on me, so i replaced the failed drive.(replaced a 1tb with a 3tb) after replacing the failed drive, i noticed several problems, so then i did a fresh install 2x. after reinstalling unraid 5.06, i noticed that i could not see my user shares, and i also was unable to copy anything to my cache drive.(saying i did not have permission to access drive) so i restored my permissions 3x, and i still had the same problem. i see the following errors in my syslog: May 24 23:53:14 Tower2 shfs/user: shfs_readdir: fstatat: Network Trash Folder (13) Permission denied May 24 23:53:14 Tower2 shfs/user: shfs_readdir: readdir_r: /mnt/cache/. (13) Permission denied May 24 23:53:14 Tower2 emhttp: generate_shares: scandir: Permission denied I also tried to run reiserfsck, and got the following message: reiserfs_open: the reiserfs superblock cannot be found on /dev/sdk. Failed to open the filesystem. If the partition table has not been changed, and the partition is valid and it really contains a reiserfs partition, then the superblock is corrupted and you need to run this utility with --rebuild-sb. i read a warning stating do not rebuild -sb, without speaking with the unraid masters. my system unraid server pro 5.06 Intel i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz 8gb ram ASrock 877 pro-4m array =20tb 3 1tb wd green, 5 3tb wd red, 1 2tb wd red parity 3tb wd red cache 1tb WESTERN DIGITAL - SCORPIO BLUE 1T please help!!! attached is my syslog. syslog.rtf.zip
May 25, 201511 yr A couple of points: The reason you got the message about the superblock was because you used the wrong device name. When using raw devices then the partition needs to be specified as well (e.g. /dev/sdk1) You should not normally use raw devices in the first place. If you do then you immediately invalidate any parity. The correct way is to stop the array and restart it in Maintenance mode. You then run the reiserfsck against the /dev/md?? device where ?? corresponds to the disk number shown in the unRAID GUI. This operation does not invalidate parity
May 25, 201511 yr Author sorry i missed the sdk1 instead of sdk.. running reiserfsck --rebuild-tree thanx a lot %20 done, i sure hope this works.
