July 5, 200917 yr Unraid 4.5 beta 4 6 drives plus parity. 2 user shares Movies and Misc. Disks 1,2,4,5 all show my movies subdirectory names, but do not show any files in the subdirectory yet when I right click on the subdirectory and hit properties it shows 2 files and the correct amount of gigabytes for the 2 files. Ex. Back to the Future show no files but the properties show 2 files and the correct size. When I look under the share I see the same thing. Tried rebooting and rebuilding parity. Any suggestions would be helpful.
July 5, 200917 yr I reckon you have folders of the same name on different drives but with different CaSe. i.e. disk1/folder disk2/FoLdEr make sure you dont have this from the linux command line I believe it is what is causing your problem
July 5, 200916 yr Author Well you never know, I have been doing a lot of switching of hdd's. Usually I install a new drive then use the mv or cp command to get things over to the new drive. Then I remove the old drive and do a restore. I must admit that I have gotten kind of sloppy with not checking if the things are copied, I check that the subdirectories are there and that the number of files and size on the old and new drive match, but have not looked in the directories till now. I have checked the other drives and they do not contain other subdirectoires with the same names and different cases, but I only did it thru windows explorer. You had mentioned to do it thru the linux command and I am unfamiliar with that command, does it make a difference? I have also noticed that if I go to the drive with the "empty" subdirectory and try to change the name, also thru explorer, I get an error "you do not have permission to perform this operation". If I try to change the name thru the share then It lets me, but the subdirectory is still empty. Any more suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks
July 5, 200916 yr Author Alright looked up the linus ls command and did a directory on all the drives and do not find any dup directories. When I do an ls command on the subdirectories which appear empty in windows explorer I do see the files in linux. Could this have something to do with the shares?

If on a PC, you might just need to set explorer to show hidden and system files. Joe L.
July 5, 200916 yr Author PC, We have a winner. Show hidden and there they are. Now how do I do a mass attrib command for the whole drive to reset the hidden for all files.
