So just today i am getting a 47 C heat alarm on my 1.5 TB WD 15EARS.  Is it time to replace? No errors logged. Last SMART test passed without error?!?

If the SMART test values look good then there shouldn't be an reason to replace the drive. I would imagine that a drive would have to be subjected to really hot temperatures over an extended periods of time before it started showing signs of it being time to replace (unless of course it was extremely hot). Are all the drives showing temperatures at 40+ or just the one? I would say it's probably time to take an air compressor to the server and clean out the dust (be gentle and don't let the compressor spin the case fan blades). Maybe evaluate the air flow. If however that is the only drive that is reporting high temperatures then I would keep a close eye on the SMART values.
