January 12, 200719 yr I recently stood up a 4 disk unRAID system. As I was moving the bulk of my videos/pictures/etc. (400GB) onto and around my drives, however, I noticed a single error pop up on the SMU for the parity drive, followed several hours later by a single error on disk2. Should I be concerned? I've attached a screen shot of my SMU and a copy of my syslog. Thanks.
January 15, 200719 yr Those are read errors. Check cabling & make sure you're using a high-quality power supply. Then run a couple parity-checks to see if any more occur.
January 16, 200719 yr Author Thanks. I'll swap out existing cables and go with ones that use a clip to firmly position the connectors. As to the power supply, I'm using an Enermax NoiseTaker II 600W (which I believe is a high-quality unit). I've already run one parity check with no additional errors, but I'll run at least one more.
