Shares/WebGUI go offline when running VMs

Featured Replies

I am having some trouble with my server when I am running VMs. My setup had been rock solid since I built it a 2 years ago, and remained solid after upgrading to Unraid 6.

I recently decided to start using the VM capabilities of Unraid 6, and built a couple VMs to test it out (Win7 64bit and Win10 64bit). I have found that whenever I leave the VMs running, the shares and GUI drop offline and the server will not respond to pings. This does not happen if the VMs are powered down (even if VMs are still enabled in the VM Manager). I hooked a monitor and keyboard up to the server directly and the console is still functioning.

The syslog does not show anything interesting happening at the time the server goes off the network. I grabbed the diagnostics zip file the last time it happened, but I don’t know what to look for:

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Update:

It appears to be a networking problem because when the server drops offline, the connection is reestablished if you disconnect and immediately reconnect the ethernet cable.

Any thoughts?

Did you find a solution to this issue? I am experiencing the exact same problem.
