There is also a 15 off of 60 dollars Amex out there too for Amazon Purchase. So i am thinking of buying a few of these. I am reading that the internal drive is OK for unraid, but has anyone been pulling these out of usb enclosures with success as desktop drives? The 5 TB seagate backup drives i pulled failed preclear and i had read that they can't be used in desktop. Please chime in if you have experience with the 8tb USB and have removed them and put them in a PC or unraid server. Thanks and Happy Holidays. Update - i decided to buy 3. Searching for definitive answers hasn't been going so well. Hopefully it is the same drive inside as the internal drive which sells for more.
