AOC-SASLP-MV8 Firmware Problems

Featured Replies

I am currently running 2 AOC-SASLP-MV8 card with firmware 3.1.0.21 with no problems, card are not in RAID mode and I can enter the CNTL+M menu

I am looking to expand and have bought a third AOC-SASLP-MV8 card, second hand. Before installing in my server, I thought I'd just try it out on my main PC

I found that it was running 3.1.015 firmware, and was not showing me the CNTL+M menu.

So I flashed it to 3.1.0.21 like the others, on booting up it did, very briefly show me the CNTL+M menu, but I was not quick enough to select it. Now the card boots up in RAID mode

I have tried rebooting a number times, and the CNTL+M menu is not shown, and the card goes into RAID mode. I have even reflashed the card with 3.0.1.21 firmware a couple of times, but on booting I still do not have the CNTL+M menu and the card is in RAID mode?

The other two cards I did not have to touch the firmware at all, they came with 3.0.1.21 firmware with the RAID option off.

I understand that 3.0.1.15 does not have the RAID option, and considered reflashing the cards to this firmware, but I can't find it listed on Supermicro's website

I would be very grateful for guidance, how do I switch off the RAID mode in 3.0.1.21 firmware?

I should add that there are two different folders whuch you can download with 3.0.1.21 firmware

1) MVF, SMC DOS4GW and 6480,BIN files. This is the version I have run using MVF 6480.BIN to install from DOS

2) MDU, SMC, DOS4GW, 6480.BIN and SNC_N (text file) I have tried running MDU 6480.BIN from DOS but this command is not recognised -

I have noticed the text file SNC_N mentioned that RAID is to be switched off, but I am not sure how to run the commands, text file is as follows:-

After a lot of research and mucking about, I have now removed the RAID function from the card
