December 27, 201510 yr Hi all, I've been having issues with the network transfer speeds between my machine and my unRAID box. The transfer would initially start at around 100mbps then tail down to 10-20mbps. The initial scenario: 1. HP Microserver N54L running unRAID. Sandisk SSD as cache drive. 2. Main machine running Windows 10 Pro. 3. Dell Powerconnect 2708 managed switch First check was perhaps it was the NICs in either machine (machine 1 has onboard broadcom but machine 2 has an onboard realtek chipset and I believe those arent particularly good) so I installed an Intel NIC in both machines. Both Intel NICs were enterprise-class cards (out of servers. The N54L has a 2 port Intel NIC whilst the home machine has a 4 port Intel NIC) I tried again and the same issue occured. I then thought it was perhaps an issue with the Cat5e cables connecting the two units to the switch, so I swapped those out for cat6 jobbies.. No joy. Any guidance on the matter would be much appreciated.
