Best way to configure drives for copying data

Featured Replies

Happy New Year all!  Hope everyone is or will be or had a good time!

Currently my system as 10 drives and one cache drive.  Each drive has a folder for movies or music.  Whenever I want to copy over...say a new movie, I go to one of my drives, created a folder for the movie and copy it to that specific drive.  I'm just wondering if there's a better way?

I also have a share called Movies, Music etc.  Can I configure my drives so I just copy a movie to the Movies share and it will figure out what drive to copy it to?

I noticed a Allocation Method and Split Level in the config for the share.  Is this where I would configure it?  What is the recommended way to configure this?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!
