November 2, 200916 yr I set up an NFS share for my backups and it appears to be hanging. Backups run for a while, then they stall, and at that point any attempt to mount any of the NFS shares goes something like this: ls -l /net/tower/mnt/user/music/ ls: cannot open directory /net/tower/mnt/user/music/: No such file or directory where the client is automounting. The unRAID host syslog shows: Nov 1 23:34:34 Tower mountd[3807]: authenticated mount request from copernicus.rlent.pnet:918 for /mnt/user/music (/mnt/user/music) The drives are Seagates, bought before I realized they might have problems. Sigh. I'm hoping that's not the problem, but... My syslog is too big to include here in full, but I can put parts in if anyone is interested. The obvious question is what can I try apart from replacing both my drives?

November 5, 200916 yr Author Hmm, well, I changed my client-side NFS options and it's not happening any more. I had hurriedly used "defaults" in fstab, but changed to what I had been using on my automounts which is rw,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,soft,intr,bg,tcp,posix
November 6, 200916 yr How did you setup nfs to work, and does it work with french charters like àâéÇ? I had to revert back to SMB.
November 10, 200916 yr Author I have no idea about the character sets. With unRAID Pro, I just set up user shares and set them up for NFS export.
