Windows 10 VM Shutting down every few days

Featured Replies

I am still new to unRAID but I am having issues with my Windows 10 VM. Every few days it seems to be turned off and I have to manually go into the Dashboard and start it back up again. I am trying to use this VM to replace a VM I had it VirtualBox that did not have this issue. Is there something I need to set to keep it always on? Also, Is there any setting to have it turn back on if unRAID detects that the VM is down?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Is it crashing, or going to sleep? Anything in the Windows logs?

Check your power settings to make sure sleep/hibernate is disabled.

It is a crash. It is showing up in the Windows Reliability monitor as Windows was not properly shutdown. Has happened three times this past week and unRAID has been on the whole time. Other dockers and plugins have worked for the whole duration without issue.

Sleep/Hibernate was not disabled. I just changed that. Could that cause an issue?

Well, it could cause the computer to go into sleep or hibernate.

Have you checked the Windows logs? Do you get any "recovered from an error" messages when you boot back up?

Yes sleep hibernation causes probs.
