"previous" folder after update? Deleteable?

Featured Replies

Hi

Just updated to 6.1.8 today, and a "previous" folder with old files seems to appear. Am i allowed to delete this folder? Or does the system use these files?

Is the updating procedure the same when updating to a new major release? I normally don't like to update stuff. Rather want to do a fresh install than updating from windows 8 to 10.. But the way unraid is build, it seems okay just to update. Is unraid also just shifting the core files in a major update, as in a minor update? Or is it better to do a fresh install when going to a new major?

Thanks. Have a great weekend..

Yeah its deletable.  Its there so you can easily uninstall the update if need be (copy the files back onto the root of the flash)

Generally, you don't need to ever start fresh with any of the updates (v6 and up), but its always best to review the announcement thread for details of what the recommended upgrade procedure should be, and any caveats there may be

Thanks for very fast answer! I will review the announcement thread before going to a new major :)

Our very good fortune then!  I keep opening threads where you have already responded, with practically the same answer I would have given!
