February 18, 201610 yr Hi there When copying a 4gb file to my server over SMB i get 96mb/s, and the other way around i get 112mb/s. As i can understand this is a very normal speed when using standard gigabit nics. But is there a way to get more speed? I know i could put in a 10gbit nic but my setup doesn't allow this as i don't have any more pcie slots available. I though have dual nics on my motherboard which both is connected to my router, and the same goes for my workstation, which also have dual nics, connected to the router. I know it is possible to multichannel over SMB3 but this is not possible by unraid yet? Is there another protocol that allows multichannel or some other method? My unRaid setup: GA-H97N-WIFI motherboard with intel and atheros Gbe lan chips (both connected to router with cat5e cables) 2x8gb DDR3 kingston hyperx ram Intel Xeon E3-1246-v3 (3,5ghz quadcore with hyperthreading) 1x samsung 850 evo 120gb ssd (cache disk) 5x toshiba x300 4tb (7200rpm and 128mb buffer) 1x eVga GTX 950 (for vm) My workstation Asus x99 sabertooth with intel and realtek gbe lan chips (both connected to router with cat5e cables) 4x4gb DDR4 kingston predator ram Intel i7-5820k (3,3ghz hexacore with hyperthreading) 2x samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd (raid 0, main disk) 1x msi GTX 980.. Again, with my hardware i would belive there is a way to break the 112mb barrier.. Isn't there? And how? Thanks!
February 18, 201610 yr I know it is possible to multichannel over SMB3 but this is not possible by unraid yet? Is there another protocol that allows multichannel or some other method? No (non-beta) version of SAMBA (the Linux Program that interacts with SMB) supports multichannel yet, so unRAID doesn't support this yet. When this happens is really up to the team behind SAMBA.

And ftp isn't a faster protocol? Or any other protocol?
