I just installed my fifth drive a Maxtor 6L250R0/L60NQGGG and it shows up as 33,027,592 space and 32,993,732 free space.  The drive is a 250g and was working fine on my previous pc.

 

I connected it to a promise card that also has another drive on it.  My parity drive is a 350gig.

 

Anyone have any ideas why it is doing this.

It is possible there's a partition on the drive that unRAID is detecting?

Thanks Bilik, there was a previous partition on the drive that I had not bothered to delete.  I thought that unraid would just use the whole drive.  I connected the drive to windows pc deleted the partistion and now everything works good.

That's interesting - unRAID is supposed to initialize a new partition table.  After you installed the drive originally, how did you add it to the array?

1. By 'expanding existing array', or

2. By 'restore array config'.

I did expanding erray, and I tried it  a couple of times and same thing.

 

When I connected it to win pc. one of the partitions was identical to the size that unraid was creating.
