July 2, 201610 yr Hi guys, Bit of a newbie question..... What do I need to do with a new SSD to prepare it for VM's? Does it need to be precleared or anything like that? As per the attached image I have two SSD's ready to go. One for the VM's and the other as a cache. The format button is greyed out. Appreciate any input....
July 2, 201610 yr You have to enable "destructive mode" (Settings -> Unassigned Devices) in order to be able to format disks with the Unassigned Devices plugin. To add the other SSD as a cache you need to stop the array, assign the device and then restart the array. There isn't much point in pre-clearing SSDs.
