Frostyfruit
Hi all, I am in the process of building first unraid box with a Q25 case. I am looking to either buy 6tb WD RED's or 8TB WD RED's. I have had some bad experience over the years with Seagate and personally avoiding them. Even though the 8TB Seagate is a very good price. 6TB are cheaper but price per GB for 8TB is cheaper.. Just wondering on thoughts and thinking from longevity go the 8TB so can leverage the space as long as I can Thoughts? Quote Link to comment
testdasi
I make it a point to not buy anything less than the highest available (reasonably priced) HDD whenever I buy one. You may save a bit now but then you will have to buy more in the future so it's not really a saving. Quote Link to comment
c3
Considering the per GB is lower on the larger, it is pretty easy choice. In the past the two did not align normally. Quote Link to comment
