Waiting for /dev/disk/by-label/UNRAID

This just prints repeatedly until it eventually gives up. Interestingly enough, it only happens when I plug my boot drive into my motherboard's USB 3.1 type A port...

Anyone having this problem? Any ideas on how to solve?

I want to use this specific port for the boot device because it's the only onboard USB that's a separate PCI device internally from all the other onboard USB, so my plan is to pass the other onboard USB through to my primary vm, obviously leaving this one attached to unraid itself.

There have been lots of people reporting issues using USB3 ports for booting unRAID.

It may be worth checking if there are any BIOS options around being able to use the USB3 port with legacy (ie. USB2) devices.

Well a bit of googling reveals that USB 3.1 support was just added to linux kernel 4.6, and Slackware is on 4.4.x...

Ok then, I guess I'm just not using those ports for now ¯\_(?)_/¯

For posterity's sake I guess I should clarify that it does NOT happen when plugging into a USB 3.0 port.

Motherboard: Asus E3 Pro Gaming V5

CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1240 V5

I got around it by picking up a throwaway USB 2.0 + FireWire (I know right) PCI card off my boss and booting from that.
