abeta
I didn't see this in the manual as it assumes that I want to replace it with a larger parity drive and I know that works as I've done that before. So I have several data drives, 750 and 500GB drives. My current parity drive a 1.5TB drive. I would like test the performance of my 1TB as parity. I figure the easiest way to do that is just run a parity check with the 1.5TB and then run it with the 1TB drive. Do I just shutdown the array, swap out the 1.5TB drive with a 1TB drive and do it the same way? ie, Restart the array and let it build parity automatically or do I have to do something different? Joe L.
Only way to do it will be to press the button labeled "restore" unRAID will expect the new parity drive to be as big or bigger than existing parity drive otherwise. Joe L. Link to comment
