October 17, 20169 yr Hi just bought an upgrade kit for my server, new mobo and cpu, can i just take the usb stick and move it, and linux just detecth? I know the nics have new mac address, so that i have to set up again but will the rest run with out problems ? i know that debian linux runs when u move it to another setup, just want to make sure, so i dont lose stuff

The only exception to this that I have seen is where the disk controller on the new system reports the disk serial numbers differently to the original (as unRAID recognises disks by their serial numbers). In such a case you need to reassign the disks to the array so make sure that you have a note (typically a screen shot of the Main tab) of the current assignments.
October 17, 20169 yr I moved my drives to a completely new machine a couple of months ago, new controllers, motherboard, cpu, everything. And it just worked without having to do anything. Coming from a Windows world, it was a bit unsettling
