February 9, 201016 yr Hi guys, I'm running unraid 4.4.2 (with Bubbaraid). I turned my server on this morning and was greeted with a stopped array and the "initial configuration" screen. I've changed nothing since I used it used it yesterday... and I always perform a clean powerdown each evening - so no chance of a power cut or something. However I have noticed in the last month or so that when I power the server on, it often attempts a parity check even though I use the powerdown command that is built in to bubbaraid... Which sounds slightly dodgy to me. I've attached my syslog and its failing on the superblock checksum. Should I do a start or restore? Or should I use Joe L's 'Trust the array" method (or something similar) Many thanks for any help. Matt. syslog.txt
February 9, 201016 yr These two lines indicate the superblocok checksun was incorrect, therefore unRAID does not think it can be trusted Feb 9 10:37:33 Tower kernel: md: invalid superblock checksum Feb 9 10:37:33 Tower kernel: md: initializing superblock You can use the "trust-my-parity" procedure as described in the wiki. Let the subsequent parity check run to completion. The symptoms you describe might indicate your flash drive is becoming difficult to "write" to. Might want to put it in a windows PC and run checkdisk on it. If it tests OK, it might be wearing out. Joe L.
February 10, 201016 yr Author Thanks that worked a treat. In fact you were right about check disk. I ran it through and windows reported there were some issues. Everything seems to be running fine now though... I'll keep an eye on it though. Cheers, Matt.
