Remove network interface

Featured Replies

Hello all, I am sorry if this is dumb question but I am new to this and I have not been able to find my answer through standard searches.

The back story:

New enterprise grade server bought used off ebay. Two SFP ports only, no room for PCI NIC without removing raid card. SFP to RJ45 ordered and waiting to receive. While waiting, I removed raid card, installed 4 port Ethernet card to install and "play" with unraid..  Got sfp to rj45, sfp port now works. removed 4 port PCI card.

Now I have an issue where unraid keeps repeating, "Device 'eth0' does not exist". I go into network settings, and I cant remove eth0 and just use eth1 & eth5.

How do I fix this?

Delete your /boot/config/network.cfg file (i.e. the network.cfg file in the config folder on your flash device) and reboot.

Try after shutting down, deleting from the flash drive the 2 network files in /config (network.cfg and network-rules.cfg), then reboot (or delete the rules file and edit network.cfg).

edit: I see John beat me!
