November 2, 20169 yr So, I recently fried every single one of my drives. For details on my stupidity, see this post: https://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=53341.0. Long story short, modular power supply cables are NOT universal. Anyways, I've bought new drives, and just pre-cleared them. My question is, is there a way to get my array back up and running without re-creating everything from scratch? Shares, plugins, etc? I can rebuild from scratch if necessary, but if there's an easier way to do it, I'm all ears. Could I just reset my drive config, or would that anger the system, since I have to rebuild parity from scratch? Thanks for the help. I'm going to go back to my corner and cry about my lost hard drives a bit more while I wait for replies... :'(
November 2, 20169 yr Community Expert While you are crying... You should bakc up your entire Flash Drive. Now go looking through the files inside of your config folder. They contain the information for your old setup. When you reboot most of the server settings will be there --- server name, users passwords, GUI settings, UPS settings, etc. All of your plugiins will be there. I am not sure about the dockers but I suspect that the basic info is there. You will have to 'know' your shares names as most likely you have linked them to other computers and/or media players. But you can probably get them from those devices. Of course, the big thing is the data. IF all of your Hard drives were the same make and model, you might consider purchasing a replacement board. Try and figure out what wrong voltage/polarity and google that situation.

Believe it or not the data isn't a big concern for me, otherwise I definitely would have considered the replacement board, though I have no idea where I might find one of those, without simply buying a new drive. Regarding the other stuff, are you suggesting I back up my flash drive, start with a fresh unRAID install, then replace applicable config? I only had a few shares, and I know their names, so that part is easy. Also, I wasn't running Docker on this machine so no worries there. Just a couple plugins.
November 2, 20169 yr Community Expert Backup that Flash Drive (I believe that a backup made is a later headache saved!). Then boot your new server with the Flash Drive in its current state. It should come up with the server with all of the old server settings mentioned above BUT it will not start the array since the wrong drives are installed. You should be able to go to 'Tools' >>> 'New Config' and follow those instructions. I have never done this particular procedure and it may require a bit of tweaking but you can't really 'hurt' anything as you have no data to lose!

November 2, 20169 yr Author Awesome thanks. The "new config" route was what I was going to try first, unless someone had a better idea. Like you said, I don't have much to lose!

Google is always your friend in these cases. Try googling something as simple as "Replace electronic boards for hard drives"

As I understand it, that board has to be identical to the original. Couldn't find anything for the Toshiba X300. I couldn't find any "for parts" broken drives on ebay either.
